Nadia Monczak is a Canadian violinist of Polish origin who since many years divides her professional activity between Europe and North America. In solo and chamber music, she has performed in Canada, United States, Russia, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Iceland, Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine, Serbia, Romania, Peru and Chile. She has given concerts amongst others at the Weil Hall of Carnegie Hall, the Orford Arts Centre, the Penderecki European Centre for Music, Kursaal Interlaken and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Lima, Peru.

Nadia has played solo with the Brandenburgisches Staatsorchester Franfkurt Oder, the Polish Radio Chamber Orchestra “Amadeus”, Torun Philharmonic, Sudety Philharmonic, Koszalin Philharmonic, the Lubuska Synfonietta and many others. She has lead as concertmaster productions of Mozart operas in the Netherlands and is a regular member of the Zakhar Bron Chamber Orchestra in Switzerland. Her current principle chamber music ensemble are in duo with pianist Steven Massicotte, the Gaudi Trio with trumpet professor Richard Stoelzel, Pandeia Trio with cellist Junko Fuji as well as a new trio with baritone Marc-Antoine d’Aragon.

In link with her Polish roots, she regularly plays for embassies and consulates of the Republic of Poland around the world and since 2012, she is the founder and director of the Chopin Music Society of Montreal. Humanitarian work being essential to her musical activity, she has lead workshops for El Sistema orchestras in Peru and Chile, and recently gave violin lessons and music performances in refugee camps in Lesvos, Greece – a project which has been filmed for a short documentary for CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) Arts.

Her artistic journey has been formed by prof. Vladimir Landsman at the Université de Montréal, prof. Boris Belkin at the Maastricht Conservatorium as well as prof. Zakhar Bron in masterclasses around Europe and at the Zakhar Bron Academy in Interlaken, Switzerland. In September, she will begin Doctorate studies in Montreal with Laura Andriani.
